Two Indian Air Force pilots lose lives in Telangana crash; Rajnath Singh offers condolences

In a heartbreaking incident, a Pilatus PC 7 Mk II aircraft, employed for routine training sorties, crashed in Telangana's Medak district during a morning session. The Indian Air Force (IAF) has confirmed the demise of both the trainer and trainee pilots who were on board the aircraft at the time of the accident.

The crash occurred shortly after takeoff from the Air Force Academy (AFA) in Hyderabad, prompting an immediate order for a thorough investigation to determine the cause of this tragic mishap.

The Pilatus PC 7 Mk II, a single-engine aircraft utilized for basic training of IAF pilots, witnessed the unfortunate incident with no reported damage to civilian life or property. A court of inquiry has been initiated by the Air Force to delve into the circumstances leading to the crash.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh expressed his condolences, stating, "Anguished by this accident near Hyderabad. It is deeply saddening that two pilots have lost their lives. In this tragic hour, my thoughts are with the bereaved families."
